The Mountain Regional Library System offers numerous services to our adult popuplation. Some of them are listing in detail below. We're not just books anymore. Today's library is about information access and we're here to help you with whatever information needs you may have. 

Genealogy
Research

The Union County Public Library, Fannin County Public Library and the Mountain Regional Library have genealogy information available on site including many local family histories. We also provide online support.

 

Ancestry Library Edition – (This database is not available outside of the library.) This collection has approximately 4,000 databases including key collections. Ancestry is normally a subscription based service, but is provided free to our library patrons.

Reader's Advisory
Services

NoveList offers products in several areas including reading recommendations, book discovery, catalog enrichment, email newsletters, library marketing, and more. The NoveList division of EBSCO has grown from its original three founders to a dedicated group of more than 40 professionals. Their core mission continues to be helping libraries help readers.

Book Clubs

Fannin, Union and Towns County Public Libraries all have active book clubs that meet on a regular basis. Please contact your branch manager for information and to find out what book is next on their list so you can join in on the fun and fellowship.

eBooks and Audiobooks

The Mountain Regional Library System participates in the GADD (Georgia Download Destination) consortium, allowing our patrons to have access to free audiobooks and ebooks through a company called OverDrive. With OverDrive, you can borrow and enjoy free eBooks, audiobooks, and more from your library's digital collection.

Stitching Club

At the Fannin County Public library you can meet up with a group of creative minds on the second Saturday. Bring your knitting, crocheting, cross stitch or needle point. 

 

TCPL offers this every Tuesday from 10 am -12.

Internet Access

Mountain Regional Library System provides easy and free access to the internet to all our patrons who have a library card and visitors can obtain a guest pass. Several of our branches have new computer labs with the latest software and operating systems. We also provide powerful Wi-Fi zones for patrons to access the web not only anywhere in our facilities but within certain distances in our parking lot for access after hours.

Mango
Language 
Courses

Mango Languages creates lovable language-learning experiences for libraries, schools, corporations, government agencies, and individuals. These great courses are available to all patrons with a library card at no charge.  The  team that creates Mango is made up of amazing people from all corners of the globe: linguists, programmers, teachers, beatboxers, librarians, writers, artists, and even a rocket scientist. What brings us all together: our love for language and culture learning and sharing that love with the world.

LearningExpress is a powerful online learning resource for academic and career development known for basic skills improvement in reading, writing, math, and basic sciences and test preparation for academic and career testing.

 

 

GLASS Georgia Library for Accessible Statewide Services

GLASS Georgia Library for Accessible Statewide Services is a Federal funded program, which allows members of the community to recieve a Digital Talking Book Player and books on USB Flash Cartridge, most books only require one flash drive making the listen experience more enjoyable.
