Towns County Public Library
Believe it or not, TCPL now has a large collection - 50 and growing - of novelty theme cake pans that you can check out and take home to make unique cakes for holidays, parties, or just for fun! Super heroes, children's characters, holiday themes...for a list, click here. Cake pans check out for 3 days. They are not "holdable" in the PINES catalog, but give us a call and we'll set one aside for you. Come by soon and check out this great new resource!
The Towns County Public Library is located at 99 South Berrong St. in Hiawassee, Georgia. TCPL is just a short walk away from the Hiawassee Town Square, and next door to the Towns County Courthouse and the Senior Center. Deborah Phillips is the Branch Manager.

Services
TCPL is well known for its Inspirational Fiction collection, and staff have also packed a great variety of popular fiction and nonfiction books into a limited space, as well as movies on DVD, and audiobooks on cassette, CD, and the brand-new format Playaway. There are 12 Public Access Computers at TCPL, with broadband access to the Internet and Georgia's virtual library of online databases, GALILEO. You will need your PINES library card to sign in to a computer; please view our computer services page for more details. Free round-the-clock public wireless service is also available for those with appropriately equipped mobile devices - a PINES account is not necessary to connect.

Events & Story Times
As the smaller of the two libraries serving Towns County, the TCPL building is short on floor space for library programs, so sometimes we have to move outdoors to the Hiawassee Town Square (pictured at right). However, we always make room for the Vacation Reading Program (VRP) in June and July. For regular children's storytimes during the year, join us here on Thursdays at 1:00pm, and check the MRLS Events Calendar for other programming.

The Towns County Public Library Board of Trustees is composed of eight members appointed by the governmental agencies financially supporting the library on a regular basis and four members who serve on an officio basis. View the full list of TCPL Board members.
