Our Policies

Circulation Policy: As a member of the PINES network, the Mountain Regional Library has adopted cirulation rules in accordance with PINES policy.

Safe Child and Dependent Persons Policy: Children and those unable to care for themselves are at risk when left unattended. To provide for their safety and that of our library staff members is necessary for parents and caregivers of dependent persons to read and understand the Safe Child and Dependent Persons Policy.

Behavior Policy: Library patrons and staff are entitled to a safe environment free of unnecessary disruptions. All persons on Mountain Regional Library System property are subject to the Behavior Policy.

Computer Use Rules: A valid PINES library card and PIN are required to log in to the library's Public Access Computers.
You must also read and agree to the Mountain Regional Library System Internet Acceptable Use Policy and the Internet Use Rules of Conduct before your computer session can begin.

Wireless Access Policy: Free wireless access is available at our Headquarters in Young Harris, the Fannin County Public Library in Blue Ridge, the Union County Public Library in Blairsville, and the Towns County Public Library in Hiawassee. For those needing help connecting, instruction sheets are available at the Circulation Desk. All wireless users must accept and abide by the library system's public wireless use policy.

Cell Phone Use: Cell phone use is prohibited in the public areas of the library. If you make or receive calls, you must do so in the foyer (if available) or outside. Please be considerate of other library users.

Smoking: By order of State and Federal law, and in consideration of the health and safety of all library users, Smoking is not permitted in any part of the library.

Multi-Purpose Room Use: The Mountain Regional Library in Young Harris and The Union County Public Library in Blairsville have Multi-Purpose Rooms available for use. Below are the basic rules for use of the room. Click here for the full Policy.
