What We Do
The Mountain Regional Library Headquarters is responsible for administering the four libraries that make up the Mountain Regional Library System according to the policies set by the Mountain Regional Library System Board of Trustees, the Georgia Public Library Service, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, and the Georgia General Assembly. The duties include:
- Personnel administration for all system libraries
- Liaison with federal, state, and local elected officials
- Budgeting
- Administering federal, state, local, gift, and grant funds and participating in an annual state audit of these funds
- Insuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and other consortial requirements
- Purchasing books, magazines, supplies, and equipment
- Technology services
- Cataloging all materials for system libraries
- Children's services
- Outreach services
- Interlibrary Loan
- Grant-writing
