The Friends of the Fannin County Public Library is an all-volunteer, non-profit group. There are no paid staff members or executive directors. We don't even have office space. Just a post office box to receive mail and donations. And a dedicated, volunteer Board of Directors who meets each month to plan fundraising events that support the Fannin County Public Library.

Please join other friends with your annual membership or gift to the Fannin County Friends of the Public Library, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Membership in the Friends gives you the satisfaction of knowing that you're helping to enrich the lives of people in Fannin County. You will receive Folio, our newsletter about the work of the Friends. And you can volunteer to work on special Friends activities, and expand your own circle of Friends! Membership dues and gifts are tax deductible, and there are several affordable categories of membership:
Your application for membership and a check for dues or gifts made payable to "Friends of the Public Library" may be given to library staff at the Fannin County Public Library, or mailed to The Friends of Fannin County Library, PO Box 1791, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
The Friends of the Fannin County Public Library hold two used book sales per year which coincide with the two major arts and crafts festivals held in Blue Ridge in May and September. It has become a tradition for our local Boy Scout Troop 460 (pictured at right) to provide the "manpower" to move all our books from storage to our sale location in the lobby of the county courthouse where the library is located. The cooperative teamwork has proved to be a benefit for both groups. The Friends receive the help of some strong, young backs and the boys receive credit for service hours to help the community and count toward rank advancement within their troop. It is a win-win situation with the library being the ultimate beneficiary when the Friends donate large sums every year following the sales. The most recent gift of $2,008 was donated in honor of Children's Book Week to purchase those much-needed children's books!
Please donate your books, CDs, and DVDs for the booksale. Donations may be dropped off at the Fannin County Public Library or in the FOL book bin at Ingles. Donations are tax deductible--if you need a receipt for tax purposes, please bring your donations to the FCPL and ask staff for a tax receipt.
Throughout the year raffles are conducted for additional fund raisers. We set up a booth at the Wildlife Arts Festival and Outdoor Expo every year as well as Arts in the Park in May, where we typically raffle book baskets and other goodies, sell book bags and sign up new members.
