The Mountain Regional Library System is launching a series of Computer Basic classes for our patrons. The series consists of five classes designed to educate attendees on utilizing their computer and includes: Access Your Computer, Mastering the Mouse, Keyboard: Portal to Your Computer, Internet Access and Clean Up Your Computer. The first class in the series will be offered at all branches during the month of January. Additional classes in the series will be offered each month. Patrons who finish all five will be awarded a certificate and be eligible to participate in higher level courses.

One of the best online features the Library system is access to Galileo, an online database with thousands of resources. During January we will offer a class in utilizing those databases, Galileo: The World at Your Fingertips. See how Georgia’s Virtual Library gives all Georgians free online access to the best subscription library resources. Find magazine & newspaper articles, reference material, maps, pictures, student & teacher resources, the best Web links, and much more! Focus will be on accessing the databases especially Ancestry.com.

For information and/or to sign up please call your local Library branch. MRLS Headquarters: 706-379-3732. Towns County: 706-896-6169. Union County: 706-745-7491. Fannin County: 706-632-5262.
